Wrapped In A Blanket

I’ve always been a vivid dreamer.  For years I’ve wanted to keep a dream journal.  I’m sure there’s a great movie plot or book hiding deep in the recesses of my mind.  I’m a little bit embarrassed to share my most recent dream with you because I’m half afraid of what it might reveal about me. :p  It went something like this:  I was at a party,  a Pampered Chef party or the like, and we were filling our plates with appetizers.  When I came to the platter of pigs in a blanket, I lost it.  Threw my hands in the air and proceeded to tell everyone there that I was sick and tired of people thinking pigs in a blanket were gourmet appetizers and serving them at every stinkin’ party.  Surely we could come up with something more unique than pig guts wrapped in canned cresent rolls.  I woke up a little ashamed of myself and feeling like I needed to apologize to a bunch of people.  The more I thought about it, the more I realized that maybe I’m onto something here.  We need to take figure out a way to put twists on all those appetizers we all have at every party.  You know the ones……water chestnuts wrapped in bacon and bbq sauce, bbq meatballs, pigs in a blanket…..you get the idea.

If I come up with anything brilliant (not very likely), I’ll let you know.  In the meantime, I’d love to hear your favorite appetizer ideas!   Hope y’all have a “sweet” weekend!

  1. I would tell you one I’ve discovered, but then everyone would be making them and i wouldn’t have something special 😉 Oh my but it is delish.

  2. In my family we always seem to be making these little hot sandwiches…we always just called them “Party Sandwiches” (original huh:). They’re DELICIOUS though!…I could eat every last one!! They’re so easy to do too…because they should be made at least the night before the party:). Yummy!

  3. One of my fav party foods to bring are these DELICIOUS hot sandwiches. My familys been making and eating them as long as I can remember…for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Super convenient because they’re actually best if assembled at least the night before then popped in the oven before. Yummy!:)

  4. Sorry…just realized that I posted twice:( I thought that I had accidentally deleted the first one or something…such a dork:) lol
